Our SMACNA Detroit and Local Union 80 Joint Trust Funds are collectively bargained by a Board of Trustees with representation by employers and labor who manage the funds and their assets. The Collective Bargaining Agreement obligates contributions made by employers, which allow employees to transfer employment between signatory Trust Fund contractors without losing pension benefits and healthcare coverage. Assets are placed in trust funds, legally distinct from the union and the employers, for the sole and exclusive benefit of the participants and their beneficiaries.
SMACNA Detroit and Local Union 80 Joint Trust Funds are administered by BeneSys, Inc. a Taft-Hartley Trust Funds Administrator who distributes benefits to participants and beneficiaries.
